SMD Series has been designed to control two-pole 2 and 4 phase stepper motors. All SMD drivers support micro-stepping, have the "Enable" input to enable/disable motion and make current reduction possible in holding mode.

The SMD drivers have full-step, half-step, and micro step operation modes. Half-step gives smoother movement adn can be used to reduce resonances at low speeds. Micro step provides the smoothest movement at low frequencies. This mode can also be used to increase stop position accuracy.
SMD-9.0 drivers are used for high current stepper motors and are successfully used in the machine industry and in metal processing.
